Hacienda Riquelme Golf resort has been built around a 19th century, colonial style building (Hacienda) which is the former residence of the Riquelme family.
The whole emphasis of this resort is one of peace and tranquillity with wonderfully landscaped gardens.

Location
Two miles from the village of Sucina, it is only 15 minutes from the beautiful Mar Menor and its stunning beaches and little beachside towns. It is less than a 15 minute drive from San Javier airport and just over an hours journey from Alicante. The new airport at Corvera is due to open shortly and is expected to bring in thousands more visitors from all over the world to the region.

Please when staying at the apartment, abide by the community rules. In particular when using the pool area. Although there are boards by the pools listing the rules, common sense is used. The rules state that there should be no inflatable’s in pools. However as long as they are used with consideration to others using the pool there are rarely any problems. Also there should be no food or drink consumed by the pool. Again common sense is applied. Any issue in the past has been caused by inappropriate behaviour at the pool, i.e. Drunkenness, foul language, littering and a total disregard for others.

Toddlers must wear appropriate swimwear. If they are still wearing nappies please ensure that swimming nappies are worn at all times in the pool. These can be purchased from the resort supermarket. On one occasion a pool had to be closed because a small child wasn't wearing a swimming nappy and defecated in the pool. We would want to avoid incidents like this in the future.

Parents must be responsible for the behaviour of children at the pool and in apartments. No running around the corridors switching lights on and off. And again, consideration for neighbours should always be paramount.

In the past a minority of people have ignored these simple rules causing embarrassment and spoiling everyone else’s enjoyment of the resort.

The pathed area around the golf course is for golfers only. For your own safety do not walk on the path while golfers are out.

Security on the resort is very good. The staff are very friendly and helpful. However if they are called to deal with persistent offenders then it will result in expulsion from the resort with no hope of a refund.

The vast majority of people don’t need to be told how to behave. If however you are reading this and think there is anything unreasonable being asked of you, then this is probably not the holiday for you. Hacienda Riquelme is a fantastic resort and you’ll find everyone will welcome you and go out of their way to make you feel at home. Enjoy your vacation and have fun.

The Apartment overlooks the pool and the 8th fairway from a large patio area facing north east. From the main bedroom and livingroom you can see the beautiful sunrise in the morning. You are able then to sunbathe until roughly 2 pm in the afternoon in the Summer. Personally, we've found this to be a blessing, as by late afternoon we've had enough sun and it's a relief to actually have some shade. We overlook a large swimming pool where most people tend to go to sunbathe, cool off and meet other holidaymakers, and where the kids can play and get to know other children. There are other quieter pools very close by if you find it's possibly too noisy and you prefer a liitle more privacy. There are two bedrooms, one with a king size bed and one with two single beds. We have Digital TV with a number of English Channels and a media box which can play music and video files through the TV. Free Wi Fi. We are only about 150 metres from the town centre where you'll find a well stocked supermarket, Golf shop, outside bar, indoor bar and restaurant. There are several play areas, numerous large swimming pools, a basketball and five a side football play area, and tennis courts.
